What is a Cron Expression?

A cron expression is a string representing a schedule. It consists of five fields separated by white space: Minute Hour Day_of_Month Month Day_of_Week

Fields and Valid Values

• Minute: 0–59
• Hour: 0–23
• Day of Month: 1–31
• Month: 1–12 (or JAN-DEC)
• Day of Week: 0–6 (0 = Sunday, or SUN-SAT)

Common Examples

• * * * * *: Every minute.
• 0 9 * * 1-5: Every weekday at 9:00 AM.
• 0 0 1 * *: Once a month, at midnight on the 1st.
• 30 2 * * *: Every day at 2:30 AM.
